Digital strategy is a system of interconnected decisions: it sets measurable objectives, identifies the target audience, selects channels and tools, establishes content and communication strategies, and determines priorities and resource allocation, all in line with brand positioning and market trends.
Who is a digital strategist and what is their role?
The digital strategist is the architect and guardian of the entire digital project: they develop the strategy based on data, coordinate all operational activities and ensure that every initiative remains consistent with the business objectives.

You don’t need to ‘do marketing’; you need a framework: clear objectives, a defined positioning, the right choice of channels, and a system that turns digital into a driver of growth.

MY CONSULTING APPROACH
My 3-step method as a digital strategy and innovation consultant
STEP 1
Analysis of the company’s current situation, market analysis and competitor analysis to define the competitive landscape and scope of action
I assess the current digital presence, evaluate what works and what doesn’t, and identify the gaps between the current situation and the true potential. I analyse the sector, direct and indirect competitors, and the behaviour of the target audience. This helps to understand where concrete opportunities lie and where it makes no sense to invest. It is here that opportunities for digital strategy innovation emerge.
STEP 2
Defining the digital strategy and marketing plan
Building on the insights from Phase 1, I define channels, tools, processes, KPIs, budgets, teams and timelines, with the aim of establishing a digital ecosystem and an operational digital roadmap. The operational plan will be developed in collaboration with the sector-specific professionals who will implement it. Everyone brings their own technical expertise; I ensure that everything is aligned with the strategic direction. This applies equally to a B2C project and to a B2B digital strategy, where decision-making cycles are longer and the strategy must take this into account from the outset.
STEP 3
Digital go-to-market planning, ongoing digital advisory services and monitoring
Once the strategy document has been approved, I work alongside the team and suppliers to implement the project, stepping in when necessary to realign activities with the strategy and managing priorities when resources are limited. I analyse data, produce reports, interpret the results and suggest adjustments to the course of action. Digital strategy is not static; it evolves in line with the market, the data and the organisation’s digital maturity.
